Cloud backup

LiIT Cloud’s secure online data backup is the most convenient and cost effective way of ensuring your valuable data is backed up every day. Stored in multiple locations, LiIT Cloud’s backup uses the internet and BitBackup technology, making it easier and affordable for our customers.

How does it work?

  • All files are protected by state-of-the art encryption. Only you can retrieve your files.
  • Completely automated off-site protection.
  • Fast online recovery of any version of any protected file.
  • Easy installation and setup.
  • Only an internet connection is required, eliminating the need for expensive equipment and media.
  • The backup server is monitored by technicians whose only job is to make sure the backups are performed properly.

LiIT Cloud Backup operates an off-site storage facility for your data. An account is maintained for each business. Each account is protected by a password known only to the user, ensuring only you have access to your data.

The electronic vault system is set up so that at a pre-set time, (usually late at night) your computer automatically prepares its data for backup. It determines which files have been modified since the last backup, compresses them, and encrypts them for security. When the data is ready, the computer uses its modem or internet connection to contact our backup server and transmit the data. Our backup server verifies and stores the data. You can rest assured that your data is safe for you to restore at any time.

What can you backup?

  • Open Files
  • Microsoft Exchange Mailboxes
  • Microsoft SQL Databases
  • Active Directory
  • System State data
  • All of your regular files.

Business Case Study

The consulting company, Newell & Associates, had a disk drive crash six months after it began operations. And, even with a fully backed up system on a tape drive, it took over five days to get a critical computer system restored. They spent several months investigating all the alternatives to manual backup systems. Finally decided that the best backup system is the one used by most major. Companies like IBM, GE, and Amoco.

Most FTSE companies use the same basic techniques to protect their data:

  • 1. All their systems are completely automated.
  • 2. The data is copied to a central location.
  • 3. Data is them distributed across multiple sites.
